Ordination of Aeta Negritos
September 27 was an ordination day for the Aeta
Author: Richard Bartz --- Date: 2009-09-28

On September 27, four more Aeta believers were ordained into the Lord's ministry in Mabinay, Negros Oriental.  It was a blessing to see many dozens of Aeta brothers and sisters brave the winds and rains of Typhoon Ketsana to celebrate the recognition of their fellow believers as elders and pastors.  The church in Cangohob was overflowing.

Two Aeta men were ordained as elders and two Aeta women were ordained as pastors.  These follow in the footsteps of many others who feel that God is calling them to serve the believers and the church to see the kingdom of God growing everywhere around them.
One sister walked several miles to be ordained, and rejoiced even after injuring her foot while crossing a flooded river.  We applied ointment and a bandage to her toe, but the Lord applied His anointing to preach the good news to her fellow men.  Her happiness at being together with all the other believers was contagious.

The Aeta Tribal Church of the Philippines was started just two years ago in an area where there were no believers and no churches.  Dozens of the Aeta accepted Jesus as their Lord and God as a group when they heard the good news.  Since that time the church has grown to several churches and outreaches.  God has blessed the believers in many ways, and persecution and trial have proven His faithfulness.

The churches are strong and the believers are growing by leaps and bounds.  Today there is even a video, bilingual bible school going on among the leaders.  They are not only learning to read and write as they learn God's Word, they are experiencing all of the blessings of the Book of Acts.  God is good, and He is saving the Aeta Negritos.
