There is some Good News in the Land of Golden Pagodas.   There is freedom of religion and the strong foundations laid by Baptist and CMA missionaries in the past have helped the church of our Lord to develop into a missionary sending church today.  Although  the church is not large, it is growing in spite of adversity.

The is also much bad news in Myanmar.  The military regime has brought the country to destitution, it is now one of the poorest countries on earth.   Democracy has been thwarted, no doubt by the Enemy to bind the people and to curb the growth of the kingdom of God.  Huge groups of Burmese people have yet to hear the gospel, and much work remains before all the nations (people groups) have heard the Word.

Our prayer for Myanmar:  "Oh Father, we rejoice at the work You've done in this hard place.  Thank You for sending your best men and women to plant the church, it was done well.  Thank You for growth and vision in the leadership of the Myanmar churches.  Thank You especially that they have sent more than 2000 missionaries out to win the world for You, but Father, remember the millions that have not yet heard the Good News in Myanmar.  What can be done to set them free?

"Jesus, we ask in Your Name for workers to reach out to the peoples in Myanmar that haven't been reached yet.  Make a way for church planters to live and work among the lost, and empower them by Your Spirit to witness effectively for You.  Give us wisdom in how we can participate in what You are doing there.   Thank You, Lord, so much for the Good News we hear from our hurting brothers and sisters there.  Encourage and strengthen them, we pray, in Your Precious Name.   Amen."
