The West Coast Bajau people are the second largest indigenous group in Sabah, Malaysia. This would account for their large population in Brunei since they have a common border. The Bajau people group originated from the Philippine-Sulawesi coasts. Originally seafarers, there are now two distinct groups, the East Coast Bajau and West Coast Bajau. The West Coast Bajau have become land-dwellers and now farm and raise cattle. They are known as the cowboys of the east and are great horsemen.
The Bajau people group are also located in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
PRAYER POINTS FOR THE WEST COAST BAJAU :
- Ask the Lord to send forth laborers into Brunei to work among the West Coast Bajau .
- Pray that the message of God's love and plan for salvation will be available to the West Coast Bajau.
- Ask God to provide a Gospel witness to go forth via radio in their area.
- Ask God to raise up prayer teams to intercede for this people group.
