Also known as NIBONG, NIBON, and 'PUNAN'

POPULATION: Approximately 9000 
LOCATION: Central Sarawak in the general area of Mount Dulit
LANGUAGE: Penan, Western.  Dialects are Nibong, Bok Penan (Bok), Penan Silat, Penan Gang (Gang), Penan Lusong (Lusong), Penan Apo, Sipeng (Speng), Penan Lanying, Jelalong Penan.
RELIGION: Islam and Animism
CHRISTIANITY: % unknown
SCRIPTURE: New Testament (Out of Print) and Other Portions
RADIO BROADCAST: No

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Please pray that the Punan-Nibong people will come to a complete knowledge of the God Who created them and all His provision for their spiritual needs.
  2. Pray that the Lord will send workers who will be sensitive to the traditions and culture of the Punan-Nibong and bring the simple good news about the Savior Jesus Christ to them without all the cultural traditions of the other Christian groups.
  3. Pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare the hearts of the Punan-Nibong people with a desire to know more about God and all He has revealed to man.
  4. Pray that the Punan-Nibong will be blessed with good health, prosperity, and abundant life according to the will of God.
