Missionaries Welcome |

The church is growing by leaps and bounds in the
Philippines today. There is much happening in the way of sending missionaries and
the Filipino church is fulfilling the Great Commission. There is almost total
freedom to evangelize in most parts of the Philippines, although fundamentalist Muslim
groups in the south make it dangerous there.
Roman Catholicism takes on its most animistic form
in the Philippines. Persecution of Catholics who dare to become born-again is
common, but the growth of the true church of Christ is phenomenal. This is truly a
time of openness and positive response to the gospel.
There is still much to be done among the more than
80 unreached people groups identified in the Philippines. Brave men and women who
aren't afraid to go where it is difficult and dangerous are needed. The church in
the Philippines could do the job with the west's prayers, support, and encouragement!
Our prayer for the Philippines: "Thank
You Father for the way You are at work in the Philippines today. The church is in a
good position to do whatever You ask it to do. Jesus, send Filipino workers
everywhere with the Good News. Thank You for filling them with You Holy Spirit!
Thank You for giving them a burden to win the lost all over the world.
"Holy Spirit, we pray you would give the
Philippine leaders wisdom in how to be effective in mission work. Give the foreign
missionaries wisdom in how to best help the national church. And especially empower
and encourage those who are rejected by their families when they become born again.
Jesus, raise up an army of workers in the Philippines and send them all over the
earth. Thank You, Lord, in Your Name we pray. Amen."
